Let The Chinese build as many schools as they want.

Why is the govt so afraid of their own
shadow? Why should they feel so threaten as to deny MCA
request for more chinese schools to be build?Like
everthing else it will sort itself out. The basic law
of supply and demand will ensure that at some point
they will equate. If there is an over supply of
chinese schools they will close on their own accord
and if there is a shortage of these schools there will
be clamour to have more. The govt should have no role
to play in determining whether they should allow or
not the building of more chinese schools. The govt
should instead focus on the reason why chinese parents
are sending their children to vernacular schools.
Frankly, its not difficult to see why
chinese parents are reluctant to send their children
to National schools.National schools have lost their
purpose and identity. It no longer reflects the
aspirations and goals of what a national school should
be. Instead it has sadly been transformed into
religious schools with special emphasis on Islam
having a central role. Some schools have even gone as
far as imposing the mode of uniform the non-muslim
students have to wear. The education dept has not been
able to exert their authority on this matters and the
situation has been allowed to drift to a point of no
return. The chinese parents are frustrated at the
govt's indifference and to vent their frustration they

send their children to vernacular schools.
Racial integration cannot be attained by the
barrel of the gun neither can it be resolved by
imposing one's religious beliefs on another.Racial
integration can only be achieved by properly nurturing
the body and spirit of each other beliefs and to
render due respect to each other. The role of the govt
is not merely to authorise or deny chinese from
building more schools. It must examine its failure to
persuade chinese parents from sending their children
to National schools and its failure to foster an
integrated and unified malaysian society.
